Parish Events

For many years The Royal British Legion in conjunction with our churches and many local groups, have gathered for a Service of Remembrance each Remembrance Sunday.  Whilst this has always been an important and very well attended village event, this year it takes on an even greater significance.

2018 marks the 100th anniversary since the end of hostilities, and the end of the First World War. From 1914 to 1918 it is difficult for us to imaging the hardship that those on the frontlines, and on the home front, had to endure.  Our own local war memorials bear testimony to their sacrifice.

Intergenerational Playgroup

Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday, from 18th September

St Lawrence playgroup and Coxhill Manor Care Home have joined forces to run an intergenerational playgroup. Hosted at Coxhill Manor, this group aims to bring together the youngest and oldest generations in a fun, interactive and safe environment. Babies, toddlers and preschoolers with their parent/carer (and in this holiday session older siblings are most welcome) will meet together with the residents of Coxhill Manor in the Conservatory area. There will be toys, craft and singing…and of course refreshments!

The 'Drop Off' Cafe at St Lawrence Church Hall will be open from 8.45am-10.45am for parents and carers (little ones welcome too!) to come by for coffee, cake and chat after school drop off.  Toys and craft, as well as a baby area, will be available.  The cafe will run on Mondays, term time only.

Donation of £2 per person/family group welcomed.
